Very flaky chrome launching. Displays Norton Password Manager when hovering on icon, but usually does not launch on my older computer. Win 10

Has some quirks but it is safe and it works well for me. I only wish they gave an option to change the extension's icon so it was visible in dark mode.

I've purchased the Norton Password Manager app but am unable to add the extension to Google Chrome. Waste of money

Constantly having to reinstall the extension as it stops working all the time.

It's awsome whenit works correctly, which is not often. Hardly ever connects to my phone app to send approval request, which delays login and defeats the WHOLE purpose of having the extension and app. Super frustrating. Please fix this soon!

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS EXTENSION FOR SOME TIME NOW. FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON, I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO LOG IN SUCCESSFULLY WITHOUT ENCOUNTERING AN ERROR MESSAGE. I AM PROMPTED TO LOG INTO MY NORTON ACCOUNT WHICH ALSO DISPLAYS SOME TYPE OF ERROR MESSAGE TOO. I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY NORTON ACCOUNT THIS YEAR AND OTHERS SHOULD NO LONGER USE THIS EXTENSION.

I got this as part of the Norton 360 Advanced package and it seems to be ok if all you want is very basic password manager, but has serious shortcomings for me. Firstly, it does not appear to have an automatic vault lock that can be set to a chosen period of inactivity which is ludicrous for an app that's all about security. Secondly, it has no option to assign saved logins to different folders. Both of these functions come as standard with most other password managers, even the free versions. I don't use it anymore, I use a stand alone password manager with far more functionality and security.

Worked fine in Chrome ... for a while. Now it won't open and the 'circle icon' for password manage has disappeared from the toolbar. If I uninstall and reinstall my Norton 360 then password manager will work for a while (but still no icon on the toolbar) the it stops working again. Not what I expect from a pricy program like Norton 360.

This app is not bad apart from the fact that I now can't use it to open up any of my stored logins. Whereas before, if you had locked access to the login details using the vault password, it fed the details back to the calling browser. Now when you try to login into a site using a locked login once you've entered the vault password that's it you go no further. If this is meant to be secure then it's doing it's job. I find it completely useless as a login tool. Just somewhere to store the login info. Whatever happened to development teams doing QA.

I like this, but it logs out too much. I don't like having to keep login each 1h.

I love the extension when it works. But, as others have already said, it frequently fails to launch and I either have to turn it off and back on or I have to remove it and reinstall it completely. Really not the quality of product I expect from Norton.

Vault doesn't launch when initiated. It's a very unreliable product that frankly feels increasingly unsafe to use.

This used to be the best. I pay for 360 the whole shebang & now I cant access anything. Now I'm not only paying for a service that is not working as it should I can't clock in to actually be paid! I want my money back at least for the time this is unusable.

This used to be a Godsend now is my biggest nightmare with either the vault doesn't launch when you initiate it or the vault icon just completely disappears making me go to settings and the freakin thing is set to OFF!! What the heck man???? I'm done.... this has been going on for months! Looking into other options like Lastpass....

Unreliable. I need my passwords available 24/7 without delay and without issue. Yet for some reason Norton doesn't care enough to fix the issues that everyone is complaining about. Regularly try to get into my vault and it just says "something went wrong" and no matter what I do, it won't give me access to my passwords. What a waste of an extension.

Notoriously unreliable. Fails continuously and has to be removed and reinstalled in order for it to function. A five year-old could have constructed a more reliable extension.

Used this with no problem until a recent update. Now every time I try to log in it tells me my password is incorrect. I can log in on my phone with the same password so something is wrong with this extension. Very disappointed with it.

I can't login to the vault

I have used several password managers, switching between them throughout the years. If you only have a few simple logins Norton Password Manager does very well. But if you have complicated logins and several accounts from the same domain, Norton Password Manager does not know what to do and it gets confused...on mobile and on web browsers. Sometimes after providing the right credentials, which are saved in the Vault, it asks if "Would you like to save your new login". Another problematic area is allowing Norton Password Manager to automatic change your password on a website (Fix). I tried it twice and it failed. In one instance it change the password but the password saved did not worked. In another occasion it said that it changed the password, but it did not, even though it saved a new password in the Vault. I have several logins on apps and websites, that I have to enter credentials manually, since Norton Password Manager does not fill the info or says "No logins found". Of lately, the Norton Password Manager refuses to open. Clicking on the browser extension icon and selecting 'Open vault' causes it just to close. The issue is present no matter the platform. It looks like an issue at the backend...maybe with their servers. Maybe Norton should spend more time fixing instead of pushing more products ads to paying customers. What's the purpose of a password manager that does not work when you need it?

Of late, the Norton Chrome extension fails to launch when clicked on. Removing the extension, re-adding it, and logging back in gets it working for a day or two, but then the same thing happens again.

About half the time the extension wont initiate at all.

This extension sometimes does not work. If I click the icon on browse extension and hit OPEN VAULT, it suddenly disappear. Waste my money on paying this useless program yearly. Norton needs to do better. It might be time looking for another Password Manager after using this for 16 years.

The Password Manager DOES NOT make it easier to log in to sites. Having to always log in when you need it most is not user-friendly. The worst thing about it is that it is usually not accessible. The page won't load most of the time for you to even log in! It is very frustrating. When I seek help from Norton, the reps usually tie up my computer for hours uninstalling and reinstalling Norton. In addition, approving access to the vault on my mobile phone doesn't usually work either. Frequently, it prompts you to enter a password anyway, because the PIN I assigned for easier access doesn't usually work--sometimes it does; sometimes it doesn't. Some serious troubleshooting and updating is needed for Password Manager!

I was using it as an extension to Google. You have to add a password to the vault to be able to open it. For no reason that I can find, this extension has stopped working and nothing I try will open it. I cannot get to the vault to open it and of course, the vault is where all the passwords are stored. So, Noton Password Manager is now useless to me and my passwords are inaccessible.

Excellent password manager. Takes some getting used to and does require active input, but it otherwise helps me keep track of my many, many logins. I love it! Thanks a ton!

Was working fine until past few months and now it is making Chrome extremely laggy.

I created a norton password vault, and had them change all my important passwords. I log back to the vault to check and I see NONE. I truly just lost all my passwords. I am beyond frustrated. Some of them didn't have a phone linked so I truly lost access to them because it reset and I got logged out. I HATE this extension.

Rubbish App - does not work - TRUE KEY much better because it worked......

Ever since this update today it is not working on my PC. Fix it please. I am really tired of these issues.

Ever since the last Norton upgrade, it is taking longer to use the password manager. I'm having to log off and reboot before being able to log in or I'm having to wait up to 3 minutes before Norton password manager is available for use to unlock my email accounts, much less any of my other accounts. Not sure what the glitch is, but getting irritated.

This is a good password manager, and considering it's free, I think you can't get a better value than this. I would liked to see that they add 2FA through authenticator app in the future, to make the vault more secured. Overall, it's a great and free password manager.

I'm just learning to use the Norton Password Manager. It looks like it is going to be very helpful to me. My main concern now is to make sure I can get a paper backup copy, especially if I generate super long passwords using the password generator.

The icon is not showing up in the upper right hand tool bar? Would be better if it shows.

Where did my password vault go to?

I used to really like this, bur recently it randomly fails to launch and has to be reinstalled. Presents a poor impression of the whole Norton suite.

When it works it works well, which is probably about 75% of the time. However, it will very often not let me access my vault—when I try to select "access vault" in the Norton app, I'll get the message "Sorry something went wrong please try again". A lot of times restarting your computer works (which itself can be a huge inconvenience depending on what you're doing and what you have open), but sometimes it doesn't help and you get the same error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything before, which helped for a bit, but problems came back. And it's not reasonable to have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling to get it to work. Also, every once in a while, if you're using the phone app either to access your password vault or for mobile unlock, it will suddenly require you to put in your Norton password for some reason (not your password vault password, unless you make them the same), which further slows you down if you don't have it totally memorized. These problems have caused me to be late to meetings, which is obviously a huge problem. A smaller problem is that sometimes it doesn't recognize username/password forms on websites so you don't have the option to autofill. I've had this for probably around a year now, and it doesn't seem to be getting much better.

The chrome extension doesn't work consistently. I have to remove and reinstall it every time I reboot. When it works it's great, but when it doesn't it just shows a blank page when trying to access the vault.

Consistently does not work on my PC. Spoke with Norton and did the uninstall - reinstall thing, worked for maybe a day then broken again. Same issue on any browser. Useless on my PC. Terrible product.

half the time the extension doesn't open the password manager, regardless of the computer I use or whether I use Chrome or Edge. I have to reboot the computer to get the extension to load. I really prefer when Norton had this as a free standing app, so you could open it on your desktop.

Recently, Norton Password Manager stop showing the gear icon in menu bar, so I cannot search for logins. However, if you go a website then norton will still recognize and fill in login credentials. Tried to re-install extension with no change. Also tried to re-install chrome and extension but still missing. Firefox and Microsoft Edge both still have the icon available. Not sure what changed in Chrome. Can't always remember the urls or credentials need to be able to to access vault from chrome, like it used to work.

subscribed to an additional service, and it crashed all of my computers. Spent 10 hours with Norton -- they did not know what to do and made matters worse

This has to be the absolute worse PWM I have ever used. Half the time it crashes, won't log in, has issues connecting. hate it so much

Overall, I like this extension and what it can do, but in the past week or so, it stops responding about once a day. If I go into the extension manager and turn it off and then turn it back on, then it starts working again. Makes me think there is some bug that crept in with the extension update on March 31 to version 7.5.1.48.

I love what the extension can do. but man, when using chrome, i have to uninstall and reinstall it at least 3 times a month. its very annoying. you open the browser, and you go to use the extension and its just frozen and doesn't respond.

I gave the Password Manager a 2Star Rating from the Fact that it seems the only way to get on it is my Phone. The manager doesn't Work correctly on My PC, it wall ways Says THAT SOMETHING WENT WRONG! . It had worked Correctly in the past but recently has that Message, and My Phone Manager Is Already been Open at the Time of this Message and is Setup for opening the Manager on My PC !

Wish it worked consistently. 1/3 of the time the icon will be there, but clicking on it does nothing. And then 1/10 of the time I can't get the vault to work; It just loads a blank screen. I really, really, really want to like this, but it does not work 100% of the time, and it's a pretty important set of data it keeps.

Works when it wants to

Even when it goes to the area where the passwords are listed there are sometimes 3 or 4 choices to make for a website. i'm guessing that would be way to much for anyone to remember.

The Extensions comes in handy 90% of the time, but after two days, the extension is not loading at all, I've tried to remove and add it again, restart the system, my computer and chrome are up to date, but it just doesn't open it on a new tab. I can still use it, but only within the small box that the extension open, but if I want to open the vault, it just doesn't. I also have ran the Norton Antivirus to check for any issues, it doesn't have any issue with the computer at all. How can I fix that?

Until you fix this app where I have to remove and add it back just to log back into it, every time I have to reinstall it I'm writing this bad review.

Sometimes works, but keeps failing. Can't access passwords. Click on the extension and nothing opens. Doesn't always autofill. Flaky and very annoying. License via BT - miserable 'upgrade' to McAfee.

password vault is not opening on chrome

Every month or less, I cannot get it to work and I waste hours trying to get it to work. I have bough a full Norton Subscription and it shows that I have to set it up - after having set it up countless times. I planon looking into other optionsfor password management and security in general - if it can' do the simple - can I trust it to do everything else????

Really annoyed at Norton for what they have done . Passwords manager on their 360 Windows interface now opens up your default web browser to a cloud account , this should not be the case . Where is the local password manager , and don't even bother with using your phone to verify a browser needing permission , it gets rather annoying .

It's great when it works, but unfortunately that has become less than half the time for me. It's error prone and often won't open. It seems to struggle especially if you have more than one chrome profile—my work profile definitely works better than my personal. I often just can't open the password vault. It will either give me an error, or a new tab will pop up and then immediately close itself, or a tab will pop up and just load a blank page. Sometimes restarting the computer helps (sometimes it does nothing), but this can be quite a productivity killer in the middle of a work day when you have multiple files you are working on in different software. Having to save everything and reopen everything is just an annoying and inconvenient interruption. It will also randomly ask you to put in your norton 360 password sometimes, recently a few times a week, which is difficult if you use the password manager to create a strong password for you norton 360 account. The iphone app also suffers some of the same issues. Overall, it just seems like a poorly executed app.

My Password Manager works well in my other browsers, however, it doesn't like Chrome for some reason? Is anyone else having this issue? I have removed it and reinstalled it and still have the same issue.

Worst Password Manager, Do not Use this as it will not work after few months. It will show you errors and you will lose all of your data :( Trust me!!! Some people might say it works but as I already said it will work only for few months. Then everytime you open your Norton vault it will show you errors. Norton password manager is trash For Real.

The extension keep crashing not working anymore

Has suddenly stopped working this morning. Uninstall/reinstall/restart chrome/restart computer, nothing has helped. This is a massive failure for a vital part of my process.

Why BT (British Telecom) have switched to this load of trollop is beyond me. TrueKey is a oneclick (or maybe a few more on mobile if not running) better solution. Mobile link login Doesn't work with Vivaldi

I have been using it for more than 2 years and never faced any kind of issues. There are few functionality which I definitely would like to have such as SFTP password and integration with Windows application but sky is the limit when it comes to additions.... :-)

Don't waste your time just download the app on your phone. This extension is a complete waste of time. Most of the time it is completely broken and inaccessible and will require your to completely wipe your web browser to get it to work. You will need to do that 9 out of 10 times you use it. Just stick with the android or IOS app instead that at least seems to work

Since upgrading to Microsoft 11 Pro, I often have to reload web pages, sites often appear with text aligned on the left margin. Occasionally, I have to reload pages when revisiting sites even if I haven't restarted my system. It appears there are some functional changes in Windows 11 that inhibits the proper loading of website data.

Utterly useless. 50/50 that it'll kick in on login screens. I must say though, on password change forms it is much more consistent as it doesn't kick in 99% of the time on those. Waste. of. time.

Glad i am not the only having trouble with getting the program to take passwords. The program is not user friendly. Would like for Norton rep to call to verify if program has been established on my computer and that my password was accepted Thanks

The extension is really good but the interface with the user need A LOT of work. Norton Team, please make a less interactive interface and a slimmer icons/boxes and you can reach 5 star

Today the Norton Password Manager extensions did not open in Chrome. It opens in explorer and android. Very frustrating. I've uninstalled, reinstalled and restarted numerous times.

After I bought a the best Norton option (like 99euros/m), the extension has stopped to work correctly. Everytime I try to access, now, a 2 options appear to me: left side (old normal way I used to access), right side, using my phone. When clicking left side button, the 2 step verification goes on and after the code is inserted the tab just vanish... over and over again... Is this an attempt to compell me to download the product into my cellphone? That wont work. If this is not solved, I will cancel. Fortunately I am in the period of time I can cancel the service....

Norton Password Manager is running smoothly.

My password manager won't open now. Has worked for years but just stopped today in chrome. All I get is a little notice in the bottom rt corner of my screen that says, "something went wrong, try again" So after trying dozens of times over a couple of hours I got nothing. How about supplying some help?

If I've added a brand new password to my system it's great. It files it away in the vault securely. Unfortunately, when trying to import my existing passwords using the instructions provided I don't get a .JSON file to import when I know I have a ton of passwords stored in Chrome (and Opera which I believe is also Chromium based) even when trying both the 64- and 32-bit versions so it's not really that useful as a secure password manager if I have to manually visit every site I have a stored password for and resave the password.

I do not have Norton virus protection just the password manager. I love that Norton Password Manager keeps my passwords but how do I manage my passwords. Where do I access them?

Why do I have to have 2 passwords, 1 for Norton and 1 for Password Manager. I have the passwords written down and Norton tells me, not correct paswd. I am a senior and I was depending on Norton to remember my pswds. I will have to delete all Norton applications and ask for a credit on my account, if I get it. LOL. NOT HAPPY WITH NORTON. I will be cancelling you Norton.

Only imports less than half of my dashlane passwords

Works fine in Chrome until the last week when I stopped getting the phone message to sync my vault. Now I don't get it any browser.

If I could give 0 stars, I would! I've been trying to fix this on my desktop for 3 months, after several phone calls, emails, & speaking with 2 agents it still doesn't work! JUNK!!!

I wish it would stop sending me messages about changing my password in outlook as it has a long way to do it and i do not want to go through it and wish they just leave me alone with this web site

Current Version 7.1.3.8. Recently, there have been issues where the Chrome extension is showing as corrupted. Once I open the Extension Manager & repair the password manager, it works fine. At least until the next time I open Chrome and have to go thru the repair process all over - Again. 3-4 days in a row now. Hope it gets fixed soon.

It keeps not loading in chrome.I have to uninstall it and then reinstall it.It is great if it works which isn't often. Also, there's no way to tell if the locker is open so I have to go into 360 just to make sure I closed it. How about an icon that one can see if it's open? 360 has to be the most poorly designed setup I've ever seen. I find it completely convoluted. I'm wondering why I pay so much for such a mish mash piecing together of Lifelock and Norton into one place.

Confusing and never works

This slows down Chrome, and especially Google Workspace applications (gmail, hangouts, etc), to the point of it being unusable. I have to keep disabling the password manager. I'm returning to my personal LastPass Pro, even though Norton is free through Norton Lifelock which I get as a benefit at my company. Too bad, it would have saved me some $$ every year. Terrible.

Look "Folks",..it's not Norton that is fowling-up things. Its apps that should not be allowed in the 'first-place! People do not mix an apple with an orange and expect Grapefruit do you ? Only if you are ignorant of things and, how they work. You must read,read, and,..read some more if you do not understand how your system and/or systems work. It's easy to say that something other than "Yourself" messed things up. Norton is still at the Top and will be there for a long time. READ and LEARN how any app works before you download it to any "System". Don't blame Norton for your own Faults. I only use the best and you will (Never) out-preform a Norton product.

Prior to Lifelock my Password Manager worked perfectly. Now it constantly closes and must be logged onto all ;the time. I have looked at all of the settings but nothing fixes it., therefore I am not renewing.

Dissappointed. A confusing password manager. Sometimes it puts in the correct PW for a site and sometimes it doesn't. Seems to fight with Google Chrome's PW manager, which I would like to disable. Oftentimes, this app want to put a stored PW in for or memorize a secondary code. Doesn't always work seamlessly with other apps. I am forced to save PWs in a secondary text app.

yup this is our go to for passwords etc there is also a Note option for obscure stuff if you can remember to look it up. The auto change option is still baffling me!

I'm reasonably happy with Password manager now (2020), though I did have to do another remove and reinstall recently. In 2019 I said: Working quite well as a password manager, but it recently kept giving "Failed" messages. I had to remove and re-install the extension - with all the bother of logging in. Earlier there was a trying time migrating from the Norton ID-Safe

This was quite hit and miss for a while, however, it seems to work fine lately. There is a conflict with Google Chrome also asking if I want to store passwords, which is redundant, as long as this works. Periodically I change all my passwords, as it is necessary these days. I also get new credit cards with new numbers every six months, which helps manage Subscriptions and if someone had the info and held on to it, it has become useless.

Its the best password manager ever i llike how the password is encrypted so no hacker can steel your password

This password manager was unattractive and uncomfortable to use, so I switched to another only to find out it is near impossible to delete your account. The method provided was messy and did not work for me on chrome. The password manager itself works, even if it isn't the fastest or most attractive. I would not recommend using this. And I guess I will have and account with Norton forever.

I enjoy having Norton and password manager. I have use it for many years now and it always works great. I have never experienced a problem with it on had any problems with breech of my passwords.
